Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) PDF Print E-mail

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for the candidates seeking admission to first year degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture in various colleges in Goa.  Admission to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).

Pharmacy (B. Pharm. Sc)
Architecture (B.Arch)

1. All candidates desirous of seeking admissions against Goa State Quota for Professional Degree Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture in the colleges within and / or outside the State of Goa, must appear in GCET-2006. For determining merit, 100% weightage shall be assigned to the marks obtained in.

2. For admission to B.E. programmes candidates must appear in Physics & Mathematics and at least one from amongst Chemistry, Computer Science and Biology. Equal weightage shall be given to all the three subjects considered for eligibility.

3. For admission to B. Pharm. programme candidates must appear in Physics & Chemistry and a least one from amongst Mathematics, Computer Science and Biology. Equal weightage shall be given to all the three subjects considered for eligibility.

4. For admission to M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. programmes candidates must appear in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Equal weightage shall be given to all the three subjects considered for eligibility.

5. For admission to B.Arch. programme, candidates must appear in the Physics, Mathematics & Aptitude Test for B. Arch, to be held at Goa College of Architecture Panaji and Government Polytechnic, Panaji. 50% weightage shall be given to Aptitude Test and 25% weightage each shall be given to Physics and Mathematics.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates who have already passed or have appeared for HSSC (Std.XIIth Science) or equivalent examination are eligible to appear for GCET.

2. Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology are also eligible to seek admission to the first year of B. Architecture course, provided they appear for CET. Accordingly, Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology and those who are in the final year of Diploma courses are also eligible to appear in the GCET(Physics + Mathematics + Aptitude Test) for B. Architecture.

3. In addition to appearing in GCET, the candidate has to fulfil other eligibility criteria (which shall be included in the prospectus for Admission, to be published separately) to be considered for admission.

Examination Centers

1. The GCET shall be held at following SEVEN cities: Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa, Ponda, Sanquelim and Curchorem.

2. Aptitude Test for B.Arch. will be held at Goa College of Architecture Panaji and Government Polytechnic, Panaji.
